I too had the same problem. I removed the solenoid, drilled a small hole
in the body, sprayed TV tuner cleaner internally, replaced and all worked
well. May have to manually press top button to activate. Has been working
OK now for several years. WD-40 may work as well. Contacts inside become
dirty from arceing.
Also a solenoid from a 64 mstng will work as well, but no push button.
