When you shut the car off, pull the air filter and look inside the carb,
see if fuel is dripping into manifold. When the carbs get worn, the fuel
drips into the manifold when you shut off the motor (the float is not
closing the valve). This is especially a problem when the motor is very
hot. The motor is flooding. To get restarted, hold the gas pedal to the
floor and crank, the motor will fire. My car does this nearly every
time.

Subject: [amphicar-lovers] starting problem
can anyone suggest what I can do. The car starts and seems to run fine,
but when it is hot it does not start after being off for a few minutes.
