RE:bearings

Subject: Auto Parts Pricing

Today, I just got a re-education in the cost of parts from my local NAPA
store in El Cajon, CA. I needed the front wheel bearings and grease seals,
so off I went to NAPA. Let me describe their pricing on just one item, the
30206 bearing.

My receipt showed a list price of $33.49 each, and a net price of $22.77
each. Wow, bearings have gone up since I last bought some!

some samples from my parts list
Front inner wheel bearings 4-20-8=$25
Front outer wheel bearing 4-20-09=$14.88
Front wheel seal 04-20-05+=$14.88
The way I work my price is usually just the exchange difference. Eg.. if it
cost me $1.00 Canadian I sell it for $1.us
And was making good at till the US dollar dropped..I may now have to work
out a different formula
Other stock in my inventory , that is NOS old amphicar stock, I usually go
15% less than the Compitition.
I use reg mail to ship and customer pays that amount.(bearings above would
be around $5-10 Can) Usually most stuff I ship is in the $10-20 range.
But big stuff like Interior kits and large panels can get up there$50-90.00
Can.
Off to the marina.. this is my last weekend I have to be stuck there, I am
not running it next year or Renting houseboats
So will have more time to play(and go to Cellia)May even plan a cross
country tour with one of my Amphis and parts.
