OK the rotor turns....there is no spark across the points.......no
conversion.......do you know what the correct gap across the points should be?I
am going to start with new points and condensor and a coil.Although there is
continuity across the coil. the horn does not work but the blower does blow.

I have a 67 that does not seem to be getting any spark...Any and all
ideas? Randy
Please describe any and all diagnostic steps you may have taken so far (i.e.
removing distributor cap and rotor and turning over engine to see if point
gap sparks, examining gap and condition of points and rotor, examining
electrical connections [especially of items in ignition system and voltage
regulator and at the electrical junction box on the firewall above and to
the left of the muffler], etc.)
Until then, some random ideas:
1. Have you done a positive to negative ground conversion? If so, the coil
may be shot...a common side effect of such a conversion.
2. Are any other electrical systems not functioning, such as lights, horn,
bilge blower fan?

Do you have voltage on the coil terminal opposite the distributor side of the
coil? If the blower runs, then maybe the time-out is not working, thus never
connecting battery power to the coil.
Then check for voltage at the distributor side of the coil. Don't crank the
engine, just insert a screwdriver against the points arm and manually open and
close the contacts. With the contacts open, you should have 12 VDC; if not, then
maybe the coil is bad. With the contacts closed, you should have just about 0
VDC; if not, then maybe the points are bad or a wire is broken.
