Re: perfect amphicars

It would certainly be great to have some of the remaining NOS Amphicars present in Celina to serve as museum type reference pieces. I imagine the owners might not want to swim them but maybe the club could subsidize having them brought to Celina for display. Would probably need to be displayed indoors as well, maybe where some of the tech sessions have been held.

I am indifferent about the judging thing, seems like many Amphi owners do not like such an idea. However, a slight variation of that might be to have some sort of "Originality Certification" inspection offering where owners could be offered a report regarding how closely their car matches what would have come from the factory. No 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes but maybe certification levels of some sort where Gold represents a car as it would have beenthe dayit rolled off the assembly line.

Subject: [amphicar-lovers] perfect amphicars

I have suggested in the past to have "survivor cars" or accurately
restored Amphicars detailed and pictured at Celina. That way when a
"perfect restored" car comes up for sale, a buyer can have the knowledge
to see and know what is not original. My Brother still makes fun of Me
using the word "restofication". Or restoring while modifying. But to say
perfectly restored on a vehicle that is modified is wrong. So maybe as
a tech session The Club can inspect and rate some cars. Perhaps at
registration a person could sign up if he or she wants thier car
inspected. Perhaps as a fund raiser. Some one may want to bring thier
car up to a FACTORY restored condition. Later Dave the Wave
