Amphicar Prices & Insurance

Hi-

The $85,000 Amphi on eBay received a final bid of $59,800. Thiswas for a nice, but not perfect, Amphicar. This means that a professionally restored Amphi is probably worth over $70,000 which isalmost twice what they were going for when I boughtmy firstin 1999.

We can debate the issue as to whether the price increase is a good or bad thing for Amphicar owners, but my question is what is a good swimmer worth? I see project cars and high cars being sold, but good condition swimmers are rare, probably because we hate to part with them.

For insurance purposes, what should we be suggesting is the value of a nice, but no means perfect, fun Amphi?
