Thanks for this info. I think this is what my friend was talking about. I wonder if we use this mirror, will our doors still be water tight? If I decide to drill holes & mount the mirror on the body of the Amphicar do you think I should use any underlayment (rubber or something) between the mirror & the metal?

It is so dangerous driving without that side mirror! I made a left turn & forgot to look left before I turned. Boy was I lucky no cars were coming! Ina in the Boro

Ina: If you are talking about a mirror that attaches to the top of the door frame; a 'peep'mirror may work. I haven't seen one in a while, but , they use set screws on the the bracket which is a 'c' channel shape and fits in a window channel or top of door frame. I know they wereused on1955-1959 chevy and GMC trucks. Probably a hotrod shop would have them too. since we don't have 'door frames', it might work in the vent channel with window slightly down.
