If you will be near Orange County, you are welcome to
look me up. I live about 5 miles from Disneyland.

Since I have never riiden in nor driven an Amphicar
other than my own, all tech tips would be welcome. As
a reminder, I bought mine from Dave Field, so I think
you are familiar with the car somewhat.

Email me offline at edsonh2000@yahoo.com if you are
interested.

If you're going to use the white vinyl out of another type vehicle for
your interior, why don't you have a local interior place do the work.
That's what I did. I used original looking materials & had a local
guy do the work. Ray

Gord, the interior turned out great! now I would like to find out if
I can get the 2nd design of the rear seat bottom? It is the cusion
type & would be more fitting for adults in the back seat. We shot
some pictures & I didn't realize how tall adults looked sitting on
the std seat bottom. It would be nice to have both, one for kids &
one for adults. Thanks.

Apparently All of the new Board members want to be Perez, unbelievable!
Later Dave the Wave

YEA RIGHT>>>GORD SOUTER...not

Guys,
I have heard from somewhere (?) that very late model Amphicars
came with a rear seat bottom cushion that was two seperate throwable
flotation cushions. There seem to be two or three different groups
making interior kits at this time. I wonder if someone could offer
this type of seat bottom as an option.

Bill,

Both of my 67 Amphicars came with what's been called "the floater
seat". It's just a cushion made up from floatation foam and a vinyl
covering that matches the rest of the interior. It sits on top of a
1/4" board that's placed on top of the sound deadening panel and it
has two snaps, on little tabs, that hold it in position.
.

All cars came with spring seat rears
Floaters were optional.
over time when cars got sold many spring seats were left behind
as buyers drove of with there car and thus thrown out... to bad.
My kit are well known threw out the club
and are avail with many options
one being spring or floater or both rear bottoms.
the rear backrest is made as a complete drop in unit and now has a option
of a AMPHICARS crest in the top middle.
they are avail in the standard 4 colours.
red/white...yellow/white...apricot/white and white/grey
also can be switched around or reversed to be grey/white and white/red
making your car a bit diferent. Also a new colour which sells good is
blue/white in the blue cars as in Tom Jones car.
custom colours can also be done,,,
did one in all white with red trim... that car is going to look sharp!!!
My kits come with 2 triangle panels, 2 door panels with pouches as original,
2 rear panels
All panel are of original hardboard design with all holes in same place as
original for the clips etc.
Some one suggested using a white plastic product but our research showed
that this product will buckle and distort if exposed to the light and heat
of the Sun.
they come with ready made back rest, and ready to install seat bottoms an
backrests for front.
all wire and hog ring and foam and material for conv. curve. as will as the
trim for the top of this.
In Canada we befitted from the high US dollar and were able to sell this for
$890.00
shipping was running $75.00 reg mail... boarder crossing of this product is
no problem and not other charges we inflicted on it.
As the Us dollar falls and with material increases this will go way up in
Jan.
so here's the deal >>I will keep this price till Dec. 24/04
If you are planning on a interior send your money up now so we can get the
stock in before increases and send out when ever you are ready for it a this
price.

Amphicar interiors came in four colours. White cars had Red/White.
Red cars had Gray/White.Blue cars had Yellow/white. and Green cars had Tangerine/white. Believe it or not they all looked very good too.
There are some other colours that look very good in amphicars standard coloured cars. Same colour interior as car look very good... Red in Red car. Blue in Blue etc. or even reverse interior put red were white was etc,
Are you confused yet.
I just finished my Greed car and I put a Tan interior. tan top( I sell tops too, in any colour) and tan wheels and it looks very good.I think this would also work in a blue car.
I have sold some very interesting sets.. One fellow order a silver gray interior to match his Gray Car(witch matches his sports car.)Another bright Orange to match his Graber Orange painted Amphi(Finding Nemo theme)
A basic interior kit, comes with the covers to do front seats and bottom of back seat, the rear back rest is fully made ready to drop in(crests are aval)
2 door panels with proper pockets, 2 rear side panels. 2 front kick panels and material for the rear humps (conv. top area)
This is a very quite time of year so Alfea,my interior girl, and I are droping the price. Reg. price is $1295.00 If you order now till. March 1st.Bacic kit will be $1075.00,Matching or white/or black Tonna covers are aval for extar $105.00 (reg. $130.00)
I can bring these with me on trip[ to Fl. Late march or Ship.. (Shipping is $75-100)
see my web page at top of Forum.
