Melon Fest Swim in Howell Mich? - 07-31-2000, 08:34 PM

Celina Photos are at
http://www.amazingone.com/amphi/celina%20index.htm and we had a great
time there meeting everybody.

Seems like it's not too late to get involved in the Melon Festival
for
this year.

Howell Melon Festival, August 18, 19, & 20

The famous Howell melon is celebrated at the end of August at the
annual Melon Festival. Hosted by the Howell Jaycees, this festival is
known for its large parade, hundreds of arts and crafts exhibitors,
contraption race, music, car show, dancing, entertainment and, of
course, all the Howell Honeysweet Melons you can eat.

This event draws 50,000 to this town and is great fun. Howell has a
lake with a public boat launch right in town (and it's a lot better
than St Mary's) We can parade on Saturday Morning, then peel off and
do a swim right after, a few blocks away. The car show is Sunday.
We
will have a large gathering tent up on the property and can have a
bar-b-q and a keg there.

For all owners that are interested in coming, we will be glad to host
you if you choose to camp as we have 10.5 acres at our place. You
can
also leave car trailers here whether or not you plan on spending the
night. If you would like to stay at a hotel we suggest that you call
right away for reservations at the Kensington Inn 800-395-8892 the
Ramada Inn 517-546-6800 (both in Howell) or the Marriott in Brighton
810-225-9200.

We can also cruise to Hell (a town 18 minutes away from our house)
and
swim around our island there and on down a chain of lakes if you're
interested. For pictures of the island go to
http://www.amazingone.com/island.htm

Howell is located between Detroit, Lansing, Flint and Ann Arbor and a
map can be found at http://www.mapquest.com Our address is 2929 E.
Coon Lake Rd., Howell, MI 48843 if you want to get detailed driving
instructions.

If you are interested please respond to linda@amazingsites.com with
an
rsvp, preferably this week. If I can get a count on the cars they
will mention us in the advertisement that they are taping on this
Friday.

I welcome any comments.

Paul & Linda Lalewicz
