New to Amphicar

Hi, I'm Tommy, Lynne and I just aquired two Amphis and we have a ton
of questions.
Two that come to mind are 1) what do we do about fuel? Is running
them on unleaded going to "cook" them? How do we protect them?
2) can we get stock mufflers? One car has an oiginal that looks like
it was repaired in Braising 101 while the other has a muffler that
functions well but is not and does not look stock.
The cars arrive here in sunny warm Tampa Fla. from sunny cold Old
Town Idho on Monday. Then the "fun" will begin.
I understand that there is going to be a get together in Frostproof
Fla. Did we miss it?

Tommy:

Welcome aboard!

In response to your posting below, as a newcomer to this List you probably
weren't yet around for the recent big discussion on "unleaded fuel". To
catch up on past postings concerning "unleaded", please go to
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/am...uery=unleaded. In
fact one can always search the List's Archives at
http://www.escribe.com/automotive/amphicar/search.html for past postings on
almost any Amphicar topic of interest. With 2,778 past postings as of this
writing, the Amphicar-Lovers Archives is now one of the greatest knowledge
resources out there for Amphicar owners. Why not try searches of "muffler"
and "florida".
