Hour Meters from J.C. Whitney & Oil Change Intervals

This is justa followup on the recent postings to this List concerning the proper interval for oil changes for Amphis that see more use in the drink than on the land (in light of the fact that the odometer does not record such water use) and the subsequent excellent suggestion ofrigging upan "hour meter", such asavailable through J.C. Whitney, through the already-existing water drive indicator light circuit. For those interested in ordering such an hour meter, below is a scan of the two models they offerfrom page 141 of the most recent J.C. Whitney catalog (No. 649J-04, valid through July 31, 2001). Folks on this List whocannot view the image automatically, such asthose subscribed to this List's plain text "Digest"version will find this text andimageunder the Club's Restoration Siteat http://www.amphicar.com/hourmeters.htm .

To order, one can callJ.C. Whitney toll free 24 hours a day at 1-800-JCWHITNEY (1-800-529-4486). Shipping costvaries as to location. To getyour own free J.C. Whitney catalogs you can visit their website at http://www.jcwhitney.com/.fficeffice">>>

As for my own oil change intervals, Ichangeall my fluidsat the end of every "boating season" as part of my standing Winterization Procedure as described at http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/8389/winterization.html. And you know what? I also do the car's!>>
