My Amphi is getting some EARs

Just received my upholstery kit from Dorri at
Glens Automotive NY{518-725-4298}. Looks
to be of very high quality and thicker than other
materials I've seen. Colors are close to original
(apricot & white) with white heavy duty stitching.
Also have new convertible top and rubber floor
mat to install. Amphi will look brand spanking
new inside before year end. Since I'm going to
have White Post Restorations VA (540-837-1140)
sleeve my brake cylinders (tired of limping
around with only my hand brake to stop), I
reckon it will be a good time to do all that
interior stuff too.
Whilst flipping through a trade journal I stumbled
upon this new stuff called "TUFCOTE TBK"
which is apparently some new acoustical foam
for engine compartments. Its designed to be a
durable, puncture resistant urethane foam (?
to 1 inch thick) that is "both decorative and
functional." They also claim it is moisture, oil,
grease, and engine fluid resistant. It is said to
readily accept adhesives, tapes, and is easily
die cut or laminated. I called the company and
requested a 4 x 5 foot piece to try on Amphi's
engine/tranny compartment. I have no affiliation
to this company but love the name -
E-A-R Specialty Composites, IN (877-327-4332).
I'll keep you posted on the results... but don't
expect them to be quick... I work at Amphi's
pace... slow-n-steady.

Although this foam is resistant to everything, it may
still hold rust causers, like water, to sit behind it.
Just a warning. Be watchful.
