cars for sale - 09-01-2001, 07:36 AM

I have mentioned cars many times. This year Midwest Amphicar has gotten
together nine cars with new owners. Just a day or so I told of two
currently for sale. Also Mike Echemann might still have one or two. Salt
water- You might consider a more of project style car and have
completely stripped and dipped. Joel Stewart used his car quite a bit in
salt water and might want to shed some personnal experience/ advice. One
idea he had was using top half of door panels to easily wash out inside
of doors. Plus using products like salt away that fight the corrosion.
Any one interested in a dual jet Dutton Mariner? White in color. Later

Ray,

A very nice candidate for restoration is currently listed on Ebay. It
has about another day to go on the auction. It is a white 67 and is
evidently usable in it's current state but is just crying for a really
nice restoration without all the really horrible body and paint work
that is required on most of the cars that come up for sale. It is
currently living in New Hampshire.

I cannot find the car you are referring to on e-bay. There is a red one but
too expensive. I am looking for a car around $15000. Thanks--Ray

The car got to about $18,000 and then the owner killed the listing
saying that the car was no longer available for sale. Chances are
the seller sold the car outside of Ebay and killed the listing to
avoid paying Ebay a commision on the sale. A rather poor idea since
many bidders "snipe" in high bids during the last few seconds of the
auction. It's also not really fair to Ebay.

Also not real smart from the buyers perspective given that, I
believe, seller had a 0 rating on Ebay. These days Ebay does offer
things like fraud protection to the buyer, but this is not applicable
if you work a deal off-line.

It's my understanding the white car which was on ebay sold for 30K plus
offline. It doesn't take much to get there these days.

he got very carried away with a tar - fibre substance in the rear 1/4,s and

The lady and her husband thought they were in the $20,000 dollar Canadian

nice, rust free(othere than what you find under the tar in rear quarters)
