looking for film footage - 09-06-2001, 08:21 PM

I got this note which I will pass along. Anybody else get the same note?

To Whom It May Concern,

We're doing a programme on AMPHI CARS & I'm hoping you can help...I'm
looking for film footage of Amphi Cars to insert into our programme: Weird
and wonderful vehicles & as many different ones as possible! The footage
will have to be digital quality for broadcast.

?The programme is called MEGA WARS (a 2 hour special of the programme
Junkyard Wars) - contestants must make vehicles that can drive and swim!!!
I need footage urgently, so any assistance is very appreciated.

I think it will be great publicity for the AMPHI-CAR - we have an audience
in the US of around 10 million - Junkyard Wars has even been nominated in
this years Emmy Awards in a new reality television category!

I look forward to your resposne.
Best Regards,

Al:

Apparently several owners have gotten the email appeal for footage below.
As "Club Archivist, Librarian and Dogsbody" I am looking into what might be
in the Club Archives, but I am not real optimistic that I will find much
material of "digital broadcast quality" as she specifies...more likely
whatever tapes I find will look like they were recorded onto a piece of
bread.

I am also beating the bushes elsewhere for any period footage. I've got a
couple of leads pending, but if anyone has anything in their private stash
like that Pepsi "Come Alive" commercial on 16mm film that sold on eBay a
while back, I'd love to hear from you off-list at bilgemaster@amphicar.net .
This might also be good opportunity to get those old family Amphi films from
the 1960s dubbed onto videotape for free. Do drop me a line if you have
anything at all, OK?

Thanks,

I've emailed them as all my footage from 99-now is digital. She
called back this morning so we'll talk. I know Scott Moses was
shooting digital during the helicopter shots this year. I was safely
on land.

Hint, Hint, Scott!!!
