Distributor and alignment of points

I installed a new set of points in my distributor and immediately noticed
that only a tiny portion of the plastic actually make contact with the lobes
on the distributor cam.

Have others encountered this problem with wobble and lateral movement in the
distributor contact plate?

Any suggestions?
