Back to the Vin vs Year Drawing Boards - 11-14-2001, 11:27 PM

Are we all up to this? I see lots of god info coming across the screen
here. Maybe we could combine it all and make some real progress. That
is if Marc feels any of the suggestion below would help.
1. Everyone one this e-Scribe group join the Club
2. Everyone give your serial number, year (if stamped), transmission
number and the year of productiuon stamped on your wheels (per Rene'
Pohl)
I must admit that what Al Heath wrote earlier throws an adjustable
spanner into what I was told by Hugh.

This isn't a bad idea....but we still may not know any more than we
do now. In fact, if we throw in the transmission numbers and wheel
numbers, we may REALLY be confused! The best way we have at this
point to view what is going on is at the VIN vs. Year list at:
http://www.amphicar.net/amphi/vin.html It does, however, really
seem odd to see all of the 9 digit VIN's (made in '61, '62, '63
and '64 acording to Ren?) with the options that we always considered
to be "late" model options. It seems that one or two of the 6 digit
VIN's would have some of those options. Also, on the entire list,
only 2 cars listed were made in 1964 and no cars in 1965. Is this
possible, Ren??
