This is not my usual way to vent, but it is important to me and I
hope you as well. If I have offended anyone, please accept my sincere
apology.
I'm sure everyone has seen the picture of the fire fighters raising
the flag at ground zero of the World Trade Center tragedy of
9/11/01 . We often see it side by side with the picture of the
soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima.
A sculptor has been selected to create a statue depicting the scene,
however, he has been directed to make the scene politically correct
by depicting the 3 white fire fighters as 1 white, 1 black and 1
hispanic. I my humble opinion, changing the historical facts of any
event would be another tragedy. This is not the place for political
correctness. Do the actual firefighters not deserve being portrayed
accurately for their participation? Why should they be eliminated
from history to be "politically Correct"? That in and of itself is
not PC.
This is a petition urging those in charge to leave things
historically correct, not politically correct.... Go with your own
convictions, not mine, but if you feel as I do, please take a minute
to sign the petition. So far over 157719 have done so already!
