TRAILERING YOUR AMPHICAR - 04-14-2002, 10:00 PM

Hello group:

I have just purchased a starter open car trailer to tow my Amphi (and
other cars) behind my RV.

I know the subject of towing Amphis has been addressed in the past.
Can someone lead me to the way to get to the archives regarding this
subject?

I especially would like to know where are the best places to attach
the tiedowns so as to not damage any props, etc. Do people use the
rear nerf bars? The front tow hook?

Thanks in advance for the tips.

Hi Ed,

I use the type of straps that go over the wheels and then tie down to
the deck of the trailer I think Marc hassome pictures of these on his
web page. You can get them at a trailer supply and probably on the
web.

I have been towing my Amphicar on a trailer since 1995. I use straps that are
about 2 inches wide. I put them through the gaps in the wheels so the only
place the straps make any contact is on the wheels. I use one for the front
and one for the rear and a safety on the front tow hook.
