First Float

Finally,
Today was it. I did the first swim of my White 67 Amphi. I was
totally equipped for almost anything to happen but everything went
amazingly well. I had about a one drop per 20 second leak at one of
the drive shaft boots and a quick turn with a screwdriver and the only
leak it had was fixed. Heck, I never even got a chance to run the
bilge pump. I was amazed.
Allan Woodcock met me at Lake Casitas, with his new Amphicar and we
both swam around the Lake together, after he rode with me for the
first swim. Allan's also pretty much a newbie since he only "first
floated" his car about a month ago.
Including the wifes, there were about eight people along for the party
. We toasted the event and had a small picnic at lakeside. A good
time was had by all. Isn't that what Amphi's are all about?

John,
CONGRATS to you! Yet another one lives! I hope to have mine in the
water next month sometime. Hopefully mine will be relatively dry, but
I'm not making any bets!

John
