I may be the only one not with Haggerty. Do you have
State Farm in Alaska? I have been with them for at
least 15 years(only 1 with the Amphi). Believe it or
not, with their Antique Auto policy, where you specify
the value of the vehicle, the Amphi is also covered
for physical damage and liablility in the water with
no seperate boat policy. It took about a week for my
agent to get the answer from the higher-ups in State
Farm because the question never came up
before(surprise). Answer- as long as the vehicle isn't
driven more than 2500 miles annually, the policy
covers land and water perils. I asked and received a
letter to that affect just in case I have some mishap
on the water. Because my other cars are with them the
total policy on the Amphi is about $80 for six months
which for Michigan insurance is a bargain. I have
never had a claim for the Amphi but have for other
vehicles and they were very prompt. Sounds like I'm in
the minority but when I called Haggerty, they gave me
someone who never heard of Amphicar and couldn't
answer my questions so I went elsewhere.
