stuck for the night

I had a nightmare experience on Lake Michigan. I was having a ball at the
swin-in in lower Michigan. I decided to go on the lake of which I do
frequently, conditions permitting. I have learned that you never "stop
moving" once you are on sand, but I did (a major DF). The car definitely
became stuck about 10' from shore in about 6" of water and it was almost
dark! Don't forget, 6" turned into close to 2' deep once the rear of the car
was framed-out. Luckily there was a boat near and they gave us a ride up the
river back to Saugatuck where my buddy luckily had his car. We drove back to
the hotel in Holland where I had a long conversations with Hugh and other
club members about how I was going to get myself out of this jamb! Even
though the lake was like glass and forecast was great, it was a sleepless
night. Fortunately, everything was perfect the next morning lake-wise, and
my float-actuated #2 bilge pump helped save the day.

Ed Koops and his son-in -law picked me up in the morning and we drove down
to where the car was. The Amphi looked great and the lake was like glass.
The home owner near had a Polaris 6 wheel-drive Ranger and commenced to pull
the car out. It wasn't easy, but with Ed's and his son-in-law's help, we got
it out. I definitely have respect for that machine. What an animal!

It would not have happened without Ed Koops help! Thank you.

Rob:

It sounds like you pulled the Amphi backwards onto the beach, right?

Did you tie the tow cable onto the rear bumpers, or someplace else?

Ed

Wow, it sure is nice to know that Billy isn't the only
one who gets stuck places!

Blessings,
Randy
