Hello,
I found the home-page for INVACAR just by searching for the word INVACAR. It
looks as if they are still in business with some new models. Have a look.
Best regards
Bo the Swede

They are weird in deed, and yes the Gov't only loaned them to people as
part
of their disability stipend. They are three wheeled glasfibre cars that
look
like something out of the Roger Rabbit movie, with a rear slanting rear
window, and tiny vestigial fins, and wheel arches.
They were called Invacars long before that name would have been considered
politically incorrect. They have two sliding doors, and all hand controls.
All of them are toilet blue in color, and have a Steyr Puch 500 (or later
600)cc engines, a two cylinder four stroke boxer design which is the same
engine in the Haflinger Mule jeeps.
The British gov't ordered that all of them be crushed out of fear of
liability exposure as they tended to roll over, and were otherwise unsafe,
so
most are being crushed from three years ago through the present. They even
turned down requests by motor museums to preserve any for exhibit only. It
is
really sad. The parts suppliers and authorized service stations in England
will be prosecuted if they are caught even selling parts to me for my
Invacar, which was legally exported to the USA.
Come and see it someday. I will give you a tour of the entire Microcar
collection. You are welcome to drive it, and any others that we can modify
the controls for you.
Check out some of the other cars at www.bubbledrome.com
I don't think that there are any Invacar pics on the site, but I will try
to
dig one up for you.
Chas
