Dead Amphi - The Final Word

Man, my last email was slow in coming! Anyway, Das Boot is all put
together, and is on the road. Here is what this process taught me:

1. Autozone sells a very nice engine hoist for 199 bucks
2. The carbon throw-out bearing is far superior to the ball bearing
type...it is so quiet now that it is eerie.
3. Rebuilt pressure plates are a bad deal. The new one I put in gives me
zero chatter...zero. I use to have chatter and shudder in reverse and
first, and now...none. The combination of new throw out bearing and
pressure plate has made the car feel totally different...almost new! The
new plate cost $125, and I think it was a bargain.
4. The bilge is a nasty place.

Swim tomorrow!

Dan, where did you purchase the new $125.00 pressure
plate? Was there a part number or other id?

Everyone will agree about the bilge environment!

Re: Dead Amphi - The Final Word

I will find out that info, and post. The place was loose (without a
box), and I did not write down the number.

It swims today!
