4th of July in San Diego
The 4th of July parade in Scripps
Ranch was another success. Four
Amphicars donned patriotic colors,
flags, streamers, pinwheels, garland,
bubble machines, and squirting bilge
pumps with colored water. Between
the bubble machine and the bubble
squirt guns, I needed faster windshield
wipers. The judges were a gasp at our
bilge pump spraying, like cats marking
our territory. We received the 2nd place
award for best decorated "floats" and a
third place award for "Car Club." We
continue to climb in the ranks and need
only to beat the dreaded Miata & Corvette
clubs for the 1st place ribbons. If only we
had 2 or 3 more San Diego Amphi join us...
maybe next year. It was so much fun and
Amphis are, by far, the crowd favorites.
Hope everyone had a fine fourth as well.
