Front Directional Signal Lamps

The other day, I happened to look up from cleaning the bilge, and the holes
where the front directional signals mount caught my interest. Why are the flat
mounting surfaces inclined "back" slightly, giving the lamp a slight upward
angle from straight ahead?

I'll check the mail later, after I get another gallon of solvent.

Ed,

Gee, I though only A'poda and I were the only ones who would notice
odd stuff like that! Maybe you should be in a properly vented area
before getting out the solvent?

Are we there yet? (Celina)
