paint for the valve cover

I'm getting ready to paint the valve cover and was wondering if
anyone had the info to order the paint. Does anyone already have
extra paint and want to paint mine? Is it worth me getting extra and
painting yours? I don't think this color appear anywhere else so
buying paint without lots of parts to paint seems real expensive. Any
thoughts? Also, Cap'n John has a place to stay in upstate NY anytime
him and Daryl want to stop in.

The copper paint for the valve covers is by Design Master. The color
is
copper #733. It is a floral spray and you will find it at Michaels (
the craft people)
Good Luck!

My notes show a reference to the valve cover as a metallic copper color, also
used by Austin/Leyland/Rover and called Reynard Gold Metallic. It might have
been used on the Mini as late as 1979. Obviously, it needs to withstand 200F and
be resistant to oil.

Originality is fine, but the devil sez chrome it!

Chrome valve cover?? You can do better than that Ed -- how about copper or
gold plating it.
