MISC. STUFF - 04-22-2004, 04:44 AM

I have been to busy to go on the Internet, and having to compete with two
daughters for the computer my time is limited. But anyway here is a few tidbits
of info. We drove to Washington, DC on the 31st of March. We were able to get
in touch with Bilgey and we visited for an hour or so. He was able to get us
VIP passes to the National Holocaust Museum, which is where he works. This was
truly an interesting experience. We were unable to go for a ride on the Potomac
because of time restraints. Thank you Bill for the hospitality.
Last week were on vacation in the San Diego area. On Wednesday of that week
we drove up to Gordon Imports. I just had to go see what was all there. We had
a good visit with Hugh and his wife. Spent about an hour and a half there just
looking around and taking pictures. My kid counted at least 12 Amphicars
buried in the warehouse. Words cannot describe what is there.
Amphicar owner John Freise was there too, had a nice visit with him too.
On the way back to San Diego, we stopped by to see Amphipoda. We had a few
beers at his place then went out for more beer and some Pizza. What a great time
sitting around and talking about everything. Thanks to all of you for the
hospitality.

Other news. A few months ago someone posted a message about a red Amphicar
seen on the interstate on a trailer in Wisconsin. I am guessing but I believe it
was the Amphi once owned by Sally from Arizona. This car is now for sale at
Valenti Classics which is just south of Milwaukee. You can look at their web
site at
www.valenticlassics.com.

Asking price --- $42500.00 !!!

I was floored when I saw the price for that car. IMNSHO, way too
much for a car such as it is (I would say it's a mid $20's car). It
has many things that detract from it's value. The have an asking
price for a top shelf car that is missing many significant parts
and the dash has been modified with addition of several gages. Good
luck to them. I think they will hold onto it for some time at that
price.

Paul,
Sure I have heard that saying. Do you know what "IMNSHO" is? "In
My Not So Humble Opinion". It is my -->experienced<-- opinion which
I am entitled to and stand by. You don't have to agree with it or
use thinly veiled insults. Just say what's on your mind, I'll still
love ya man!

I do sincerely respect your right to have a different POV than
mine (in fact, I applaud it). That is what makes our country stand
out from so many others where it is not allowed nor tolerated.

Hello John

No John, your way off base ??? It is only a saying... Not intended to be a
thinly veiled insult
I ment to a person who wants a amphi is going to pay the price no matter
what.
Sorry you took it wrong. My car was some one elses parts car so there was
nothing left to
it when i got it. I mean no floors , no quarters, hit in one side, rust
holes everywhere. I had
to replace every brake cyl and brake line, and no glass .. And i still payed
$2,500 for the car
So if you think about it, I am one of those asses? But i still love my car,
It may not be all
stock? But to me its a $1,000,000 amphi....
Still love ya man Paul from Albany

Paul,

I apologize! It is tough to tell how something is meant in print.
Maybe I just needed a Midol! So how do you cook crow so it tases
good?

I know how you feel about your Amphi. It's yours and all the work
you put into it is a labor of love. I have had many offers on my
car, but I tell them they can get a much nicer car, cheaper. Why?
Because I love my car and it would take more money than it's worth
to buy this particular one.

John
