Autozone airfilters

Here is the part number of a $7 airfilter from autozone. The size is 6 3/8 x 2
1/2.

Part number 4806, made by Spectre.

Re: Autozone airfilters

Hello Scott,

I ordered a 4806 air filter element from Auto Zone and it finally
arrived today. Although it kind of fits the filter housing, the
inside diameter is too big for it to seat correctly on the sealing
surfaces of the standard Amphicar air cleaner housing. I suppose it
might do an adequate job of filtering the air but since it doesn't
seat correctly I don't think it will filter all the air that comes
through the housing. The filter element that Allan Woodcock sells is
a very good fit for the housing and I would recommend that you use
that filter element instead. He charges $12 instead of $6 but it
seals correctly and works well. Of course Gordon's also has a filter
element that works fine too.
