Interesting idea, just not sure if is overkill on the
old Triumph engine. One would have to see what sort
of real HP gains it provides.
I do wonder if it would be more cost effective, and
provide the same performance gains, to provide a kit
for fitting a Weber downdraft on the Amphi engine.
That would be a true performance carb upgrade, just
need the proper intake manifold. When I upgraded to a
Weber years ago on my old Spitfire the transformation
was like magic.
It is great to see all of this experimenting going on
with Amphis. Disc brakes, fuel injection, etc.. One
fellow at Celina was seriously discussing that there
is someone out there who is planning to retrofit a
Corvair automatic transmission into the Amphi.
I always leave Celina with some great ideas from other
Amphis. Some are simple such as fitting a piece of
heat shrink tubing over the brake line where it goes
into the body. Others like rewiring so that there is
a seperate fuse box in the engine compartment to power
all of the stuff in the rear. I only wish I had the
time, skills, and ingenuity (or at least a big pile of
cash to source it all out!).
