Probably would not hurt anything but I think it is basically snake oil of
dubious benefit. If it really worked I figure it would be certified in aircraft
engin
es to reduce specified time between major overhauls.

Ummmm...That's a big NOT, Richard. That teflon shavings oil additive crap is likelier to do more harm than good. For more details, please read the widely known article on the matter, "Snake Oil! Is That Additive Really A Negative?" by Fred Rau, Road Rider, August 1992. You'll find a proper copy of it here: http://www.genpaku.org/skepticj/slick50.html

To learn more than you ever wanted to know about motor oil, pleaseread, "More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Motor Oil" by Ed Hackett, the most recent and correct version of this gold standard guide for the perplexed lubricants fetishist of which can be found at http://www.micapeak.com/info/oiled.html

Hackett's conclusion: If you really want to treat your Amphi, do it with AMSOil. You should find a link to my old "AMSOIL for Amphicars Catalog" on the Club website's homepage.

Thank you for your post, Bilgey. The Rau article makes a lot of
sense. I'll keep my Amphi Slick 50-free.
