$115k - 01-19-2006, 11:21 AM

Congratulations go out to Roger Sallee for getting $115,000 for his Amphi at
Barrett-Jackson!!
Too bad I sold a few of mine many years ago.
The world will now think the rest of ours are worth more, even tho most of
us will never sell.
Lets not make this turn our Amphis's into trailer-queens. We do like to use
them.

Till later.....

OK, simple math, buy my Amphi for $19,500. Invest $30,000 into a
nice restoration. Wait less than one year, ship to Arizona for
$2000, one week vacation $2000. Sell for $115,000. With the 6%?
sellers premimum you would net $54,600. That would be over 100%
annual return on your money.

Hmmm, maybe I should be looking for an investor, not a buyer for my
car.

In any auction situation there are going to be occasions whentwo or more "high net worth" buyers stack-up and the results become unreal !

Question really is what is the second most expensive Amphicar that has sold in recent years - that would probably be the high water mark (pun intended)
