RE: prop shafts

CHUCK>>
Its much easier to put in another prop shaft than change the joints and if
you go to my parts list
#3-19-01 you will; see that I have them for $100.00
If anyone wants my list email me at (info@houseboatvacations.ca)

Also if you are very careful Muratic Acid. As one fellow said (available at
hardware stores ) will clean gas tanks in a few days of rotating to a like
new condition.
I use this stuff all the time in restoration of amphicars, nuts bolts and
small parts.etc.

My bolts there were all severely rusted and/or corroded. Most of the bolt-heads
couldn't be gripped with a socket, box or open-end wrench. Had to crack rust
from hex faces of bolt heads.

Hope you remembered to replace the seals at the hull penetrations. BTW, I notice
that a lot of the original Amphi split-ring lockwashers are bad. A surprising
number will crack and fall off the bolt when you are removing the bolt. I
decided to not re-use any old lockwashers, no matter how good they look.

Re: prop shafts

Having been the "butt" of your communications before, Mr. Wave, please know that this is truly appreciated and accepted in the unselfish and giving manner it is offered. I'll be pounding harder today; with a bigger hammer. (It's always good to put my enginering training to use) Much Amphi Love! --Larry
