CRAP! (fuel valve) et al

May have to postpone my insurance an sea trial date.

I was out test driving the new hipro Gordon muffler and exhaust
maniflod, but the car kept hesitating like it was suffering from
fuel starvation.

So I try to shut off the fuel and I get a handle in my hand. Not
good. I yank the tank out an and drain it and the outlet is loaded
with crap. The sreen is totally clogged. I soak the whole mess in
jetA (diesel/kerosene) and lightly attempt to move the valve and
SNAP!!

So now I need a new fuel valve assembly. Anyone got a spare out
there? Calling Gordon on Monday. I am so p.o.'d. Best to find thr
problem now than floating down the Columbia a mile from the
Pacific.

Push comes to shove, I may install an aircraft gascolator which is
the primary screen and drain point on airplanes. I have a couple on
my shelf some where. Methinks a secondary screen downstream may be
a good idea as well. The Amphi screen is a joke at best.

Please help! I need to float my Boat. It's been 10 years since
it's seen open water.

I have a horn. Long story. Thanks for all the ideas. I made up a
horn from an after market cycle horn and a generic horn off the
shelf in a local supermarket(which BLASTS).

My generator functions perfectly on the bench. Need to focus on the
regulator next. The generator guy says I may need to polarize the
regulator. ??? Nothing to do with the gen. I've heard all the
Lucas stories. Never had to work on one 'till now. Could a
manufauturer find a more difficult place to work on an electrical
device other than on the Amphi???? I'm not a teenager anymore.
This car has already contorted my body in some pretty weird
positions. Run outta Advil. Costco run Sunday!

My new choke cable is awsome. Highly recommed the dealer I
mentioned a couple days ago.

Still need to install new flex brake lines and bilge pump. I'm
ready to go!

My wiper motor blows the fuse. Any thoughts on wiper motors? May
be a good time to look at it with the fuel tank out.

Thanks,

High and dry in Oregon'

glenn
