How long did your restoration take?

I think I'm setting a record... I started taking the car apart three
years ago... Just now getting it back from blasting and still have
quarters to repair and paint to do. My best guess is another year and
a half. Maybe two. Any other five year restorations out there?

On the bright side I got a big shop to work in now. A 40' x 38' heated
airplane hanger! Something every Alaska car guy dreams of. I should be
a more active member of this list again as I plan on getting serious
with it this winter.

RE: How long did your restoration take?

Hello Craig: Well I bought my Amphicar in 2002 and its still not ready for
the water yet, After new floors, wheelwells, every cable, and every
wire,Quarterpanels, doors, rebuild the motor, all new yokes.
I findly got the Amphi to start and move on its own and when i ingaged the
props what a noise now i have to replace the tunnel bearings and finnish the
hood and trunk and should be in the water by earlly next year and thats 07
witch makes it five years.good luck with yours.
Owned an Amphicar for five years and never been in one that was in the
water.
