STAINLESS STEEL CHOKE CABLES - 04-27-2007, 07:58 PM

Hello Amphicar Owners:

Today, we received a large shipment of STAINLESS STEEL choke
cables. Amphicar Club and Digest members influenced our decision to
go stainless. Here are the details. The solid wire itself is
stainless. It slides in a Teflon sleeve. The sleeve is fastened to
the inside of the flexible steel coil housing, which is not
stainless. On the outside of the coil housing is the typical black
sealing material.

Operation is phenomenal. Teflon makes the movement so smooth that
you can roll the cable up into a loop the size of a basket ball.
And with your finger tips, you can pull the cable in and out without
a knob.

The dash side of the cable shows a hex fitting. The original ivory
Amphicar knob fastens to the cable end. Just as with the dash
switches, a chrome plated brass rosette is available. It can easily
be installed even after the cable is installed on the dash.

For pricing details, check your weekend e-mail special. Since this
is an exchange of information site, we can only say it is less than
half of standard steel cables available today.
