Citroen Auto Transport

Hi Mike,
First of all, don't let anyone tell you that Citroen's are weird or undesirable. They are fantastic, and my all time favorite is the DS21 Pallas with Citromatic (BVH). Second of all, the truth is that, into everyone's life, a certain amount of misery must fall, and if you own a French car, particularly a DS with hydro-pneumatic suspension and Citromatic gear change, you have met your misery quota, and no other misfortune will ever plague your menial little existence. You will not have any IRS audits, or colds, or flu's, or accidents or anything else, so it is a great preventer in that regard. Actually a properly maintained DS is really quite reliable, and loads of fun, and the lines and technology of that car, are thirty years ahead of its time! I am currently negotiating on one as well, but thankfully it is not the same one!
As far as transport, I have had a few cars shipped across the country and across the world over the last three decades, and I can tell you that without a question, Intercity Auto Transport is the absolute best. They do chargea slight premium, but they are worth every penny. I have had cars lost and damaged in transport with other carriers, and learned that many carriers broker the deal, and the cowboy that carries your car, is completely unknown to the people that you originally contract with, and they are inherently bad, as the broker looks for the cheapest sub contractor in order to maximize his profit from your original quote.
Horseless Carriage and Passport Transport (now owned by FEDEX) are both great as well, but tend to be more expensive than Intercity. All three of these carriers have huge two level trucks with a flat horizontal elevator tailgate , that can accommodate a DS suspension whether inflated or collapsed as there is not ramp involved. The owner drivers are knowledgeable, professional, PROPERLY insured and show up when they say they will. They have constant GPS monitoring to tell you where your car is, and will usually give you the drivers cell number to speak directly with them.
They do extend a small discount to me as a result of the volume that I send them, and if you would like me to get a quote for you, I would be happy to do that .Just let me know, and send me the addresses on both ends, and whether it is a driver or a dead car, for which they charge a $100.00 surcharge.
As I said, you can find transporters for considerably less money, but for me, it has never turned out to be worth the savings!
Chas
