There is an old saying about classic cars. The fastest way to make a small
fortune restoring classic cars is to start with a large fortune!!
For the moment I do see prices sitting flat. With the economy in the crapper
and the current credit crunch, many of the makets for luxurys and toys are being
hard hit. It is not as easy as it was even 12 months ago to tap into a
low-interest home equity loan to buy an Amphicar.
Over time values will continue to increase (as will the cost of restorations and
everything else). I still believe an Amphicar will remain a very good
investment. Just do not expect the crazy rates of return that characterized the
last 6 years or so.

What would a car that brings $65K today sell for in 1996?
Hmmmmm, what's this, reverse investment strategy????
I believe most owners would want to know what one that sold for 65K today would
be worth in 2017
Its going to be a really big number, but with not much value as the dollar
continues to slide down the slippery slope of the global economy. They are all
worth about the same now as ten years ago, except for improvements from
restoration, the number is bigger but the value or true worth is about the
same----IMO
