I too hope all is well in San Diego. I believe when we visited Poda, the area is called Scrips Ranch. I remember last time Poda had to evacuate, he took the Crossfire and left the Amphi behind. Hope Poda and Mermaid and Amphi are safe. And anyone else in harms way hope you are safe.

Hey Amphipoda,

I'm worried about you, Mermaid and your beautiful Amphi.

Are the fires near you? Sounds like they are.

Are the 3 of you OK?

Been following this as we have a number of friends in the area. I think 'poda was evacuated yesterday, acording to one site/blog Scripps Ranch was on the list of mandatory evacuation areas on Tuesday afternoon. Looking at the maps I think the nearest fire to him is a little bit north - the other side of Mirimar - about a mile away - but the fires are so big and changing direction so rapidly on the windit's difficult to know for sure - hope to here from him soon.

Ahoy! Having a bad week but all things considered am better off than many
others. Got evac'd from Scripps Ranch and took refuge with fellow amphibians
Steve & Connie in Del Mar... only to be re-evac'd to La Jolla to Steve's office
building. Mermaid is back in Hartford, CT so she missed all the fun of packing
stuff, 3 screaming cats & 5 turtles. Could only take Subaru wagon so I parked a
few classic cars at the lake where they remain locked in. Back home now but not
unpacking untill fires are out. Thanks to all who've called, emailed and posted
here. Amphibians are my favorite species... that'd be YOU ALL!
Be well, swim safe.
