Ed, the American manual says original size is 9.055 but OK down to 9.145 however
the original German manuals have more information and are generally more
accurate, they quote 230mm and OK down to 232.3
The part number is Mercedes and the logo is the component supplier, they are
common to some other rare Merc. The logo is the parts supplier - same with the
wheels and yes that is a date code - no idea why though. Merc went to wider
wheels and disk brakes by mid 60s so not much is common.

Subject: [amphicar-lovers] Brake Drums
I just checked the 5 brake drums that I have, and found the following internal
diameters (of the braking surface):
9.045"
9.051"
9.052"
9.056"
9.058"
Does anyone know what the maximum allowable ID is for the Amphi brake drums.
Also, as a point of interest, what was the ID of a NEW Amphi drum?
BTW, I noticed that the drums carry a prominent number: C.06.1.04.0.11
Does anyone know the significance of this number?
Finally, The drums also seem to carry a logo. The logo is a circle, with a
large "W" inside the lower half. There is some character above the "W", but I
can't make it out. Could the unknown character be a "V", and I'm looking at a
Volkswagen logo?
Did VW supply the Amphi brake drums? If so, the drums were likely an existing
VW item, and should be crossable to some VW car model, opening up a strong
possibility of sourcing drums for Amphi.
