Help with weatherstrip - Welcome to The Amphicar Lovers Digest / Forum

I am working on my top,putting new weatherstrip along the top where the windows roll up into.Which way does it go? Can someone tell me or show it in a picture.

If you can, warm up the rubber in the sun or in a tub or hot water before starting. The materials used for the Hugh's weatherstrip there are incorrect. It is way to hard (should be somewhat soft as originally intended). I use a large flat screwdriver (I rounded off so there are no sharp edges) to force the seal into the aluminum moldings. I hope Hugh has the next batch done with the proper softer materials.

The center "flap" goes so it faces out and will mate with the window's top/inside edge. Keep in mind the window will close against that edge when you close the door against it. I hope all makes sense!

Agreed on the material used being way too hard. I ended up having to use a bench grinder to thin it off on the back and then go after it with a screwdriver. The job took several days and my hands ached after it was complete.

I used plenty of warm soapy water. Didn't have a problem. But that was 10 years ago and maybe different material.

Thanks for all the ideas with getting it into metal frame.But what I need to know is;does the longer part go to the inside or outside? The frame has a slot that the weatherstrip slides into and the other side needs to be push into.I may have the frames reverse.I have tried both ways,Niether seems to look right.
Also,I am looking for a pair of sunvisors,and the horn body in any condition.Any help there?

Best bet for sun visors is Allan at amphicarparts.com
Gord Souter has repro horn shells in fiberglass.

I bought a pair of VW visors and fitted them to my original visor rods.
They work and look great.
