I feel it is very courteous to sign your name to a message. A
location would be nice as well. After all, we're a fairly close-knit
group of folks with a rather unique common interest. It only serves
to get to know each other better.

Whenever I see an anonymous message asking for assistance to an
Amphicar problem I tend to ignore it. I can't get very motivated to
research an answer to their problem if I don't even know who it is I'm
talking to. Chances are pretty good to not receive a thank you reply
either.

Above is an excellent example of the "old" versus the "new." A long-time
poster is discussing message format and etiquette, and signs his post with a
cogent descriptor. He receives a sarcastic, useless, off-topic response,
top-posted and unsigned.

Vic,

Some members want the roster names listed alphabetically, some by state, some by 1st name, some by last name, etc. Unsure how you could do this on a single sheet of paper as you suggest considering there are 355 names? We issued the version that seems to be the most popular.

The roster used to be on the IAOC website which would allow you to sort it anyway you wanted. We are looking into placing it back on the website only after we are comfortable it will be secure.

Unsure how a email / new group format thread got mixed into this newsletter / roster post but it sure is confusing.

Up until 2004, the printed IAOC membership roster contained an
additional sheet that sorted by location, that is by state (or
country) then city along with member name. It was quite convenient to
be able to easily identify other owners in your vicinity. If the
roster were to be printed double sided as was previously done then a
location sheet could be included while still using almost half the
paper.

I would support a web version but some members may not have easy
access. Perhaps an option during annual registration for a paper
copy. Any way you do it is much appreciated.

If you have an example of this please scan and email to me. I would also be curious as to the total number of members back then.

I don't believe the intent is to send a roster out every year due to the cost, perhaps every 2 or 3 years. If we would have just included 08 paid up members the roster would be a lot (1/3) smaller.
