Master Cylinder Seals - 05-05-2008, 07:34 AM

The master cylinder is leaking. Are the seals available somewhere or can a person use a standard o-ring compatablie with brake fluid? It appears the part I need to replace is 6-24-8. The service manual lists 8a as well and I'm not quite sure what thats all about.

I sell master cyl repair kits for Amphicar master Cyl.(not VW REPLACEMENTS SOME HAVE PUT ON) they cost $50 for all parts.when rebuilding a Amphicar master you must make sure there are no pits in the bore, if there is it may not work(leak or take in air)
There was 2 masters used on Amphicars one has a different sealk than the other. 8 vs 8a. my kits are of the 8 vaiety.
It is just easyer to buy a whole ne Amphicar replacement Master for $120.00 exchange, bolt it on bleed and go, no moods needed!
I even have a few NOS masters but there more..$220.00
