Ina,

I don't mean to scare you but the Delaware river can be dangerous (as per Billy Syx's rescue helicopter ride out). There are huge ships in these waters along with fast running currents on occasion along with rocks.

Re: First Swim - what do I do?

1,000 pardons, Gord. Please forgive me because I didn't know that you had the manual for sale. Sooooo sorry.

Now that I made you angry you probably won't spend hours at Celina fixing the convertible top, re-aligning the driver door, & checking the molding around the back windows so the driver's door will close with the window up. Just my luck to make one of the greatest guys angry!

PS: By the way I think the new engine I bought from you is fantastic!! Did that help a little?

Ina... Im shocked ,,, after all I do for you you tell them to go to the compition..
I have exact copies of the original manual for $25 plus s/h

Drain plug(S).....Amphicar came with 1 drain but over the year people have put more in,, some have them under the engine.
I always install new ones in the inner rear quarters(thats where water stays so....) unless you use my fribre glass inners oand outer skins then you don't have to worry about RUST.,
others have put them in the frame at the front end.
GORD.

Victor:

The Owner's Manual is accessible at the Members Only section of the IAOC
website. I just checked the link, and it's working fine. If you still can't
download it, then I can send you a copy of the file.

BTW, you didn't join Amphicar.com, you joined the International Amphicar
Owners Club (IAOC).

Finally, please expand your sig so that we know who you are; "Victor" is a
little too cryptic.

Thanks for the advice all.

Just so I'm clear:

GORD, you said "drains in". I only know of the one big drain. Are there
more? I'd hate to miss one.

And Ron suggested getting an Owner's Manual. Does anyone have a link to it
or a copy they could email me? Amphicar.com has a link to an online
reproduction by James Oliver, but the link is dead. I paid for a membership
to Amphicar.com but I only see the maintenance manual in the 'Member's Only'
section, but no Owner's manual. Or is there a source to buy an Owner's
manual?

Thanks again for all the help.
-Victor

Re: First Swim - what do I do?

Drain plugs, I have seen a couple of very early cars with a small drain plug directly under engine. Hopefully this week end I will get a door put on BW4. Then garden hose will come out and leaks will be found and bilge pumps will be tested. Another worth while addition is the oil dipstick extension. Not much time left to get car running, driving and floating for Sabula Swim. Later Dave the Wave

Re: First Swim - what do I do?

I went looking for it again, and this time I found it.
I had been looking at the drop down menu that appears when you put your mouse on the "MEMBERS ONLY" bar at the top of the screen - that lists the Maintenance Manual and Parts Manual (among other things) but not the Owners Manual. But I clicked around a bit and found my way to it.

There's also a dead link to the Owner's Manual on James Oliver's page in the Restoration Resources & General Information section about 1/2 way down which tripped me up.

Thanks for your help, Ed, you're a lifesaver.
