Brian - It's a Craftsman magnetic mat. VERY handy! Holds 20lbs (so thay say) I have used it a lot. Good place to keep hardware or tools so they don't get lost (clunk, tink tink tink, @#$%^!) in the bilge. I also have thier magnetic trays too. Also great part savers.

Re: Automobile Lifts
Sissor lift.. I hate those with avengence,,had one many years ago as was plenty glad to get rid of it,, always in the way..
My shop has a single pole in ground OLD lift from a gas station(free)
Lots of work to put in but could not be without it..
Between it and the rotisery I can do anything on Amphicars with no effort(on Back)I built it to sit in ground flush when not in use.

Re: Automobile Lifts
Hello Gord,
A single pole lift set flush into the ground sounds mightly nice but nobody I can think of, especially me, would hack up my garage floor for such an installation. Such professional equipment is fine for some people but crazy for most of us. Gee, and I'm considered a fanatic. This car lift is perfect for most people and their Amphicars, no damage to garage floor, no hoses or wires and it stores under the car (or most any other place). I'd been looking for something like this for almost 4 years.

Hi Vic,
Which brand of lift did you buy. I have been looking to get a 4 post. From what I read this is not something you want made in China. Backyard Buddy gets good press but expensive.

Re: Automobile Lifts
The 4 post lifts are way more intrusive than I wanted. The lift I have is built in the U.S. by a mechanical engineer. It's called the EZcarlift and it has a website at EZcarlift.com. The owner personally sold me the lift and set it up at my house. He knows that I think it's just perfect for Amphicars so if you guys want one, mention my name. That way he'll know exactly what size you want. He also has a demonstration DVD so you might ask for one.
