Hi David,
Great to hear form you again! I miss the regular banter that we used to share
about Amphis, Microcs and such. Now that you have reminded me of your
electronics expertise, I was wondering if I might pick your brain about a problem
that I have been experinecing with my gray market Smart car. It is a very simple
problem, but with a somewhat comples solution apprently, as I have been unable
to solve it. I don't know if the email address that I have for you is still
any good, so I thought that I would respond here. Could you please send me a
note to confirm that you saw this message, and then I will provide the bloody
details of my delemma?
Thanks,
Charles

Re: Electrical Problem driving me crazy!

Thanks to everyone for suggestions on this annoying problem. Junction block on the firewall was the culprit. Thanks! Now, if I can just get that darn temperature gauge to work...thats another post!

Re: Electrical Problem driving me crazy!

Did you end up replacing it or just cleaning it off? I'm probably going to have to do the same to mine, curious if I should just preemptively replace it.

Told you Tom! Does the gauge read anything, like full cold all the time, or
full hot all the time? Will you be at the photo shoot tomorrow morning?
Everyone should watch Good Morning America Thursday morning between 7:00 and 8:30 to
see a live feed of the Amphicars at Gerry and Lori O'Bara's Boston Swim-In.
Chas

Re: Electrical Problem driving me crazy!

Peter,

Unless the blocks are melted or the contacts rusty, they are not usually the problem. It's the clips on the ends of the wires that fail and should all be replaced.

Chas,

The gauge reads hot all the time and never moves. I will be at the shoot tomorrow morning. Heck, live TV...I am there!
