Does the chrome tailpipe adapter fit over the tailpipe of this model?

This is the California VW muffler, identical (or looks identical: round
cylinder w/ ports at each end) to the current Amphicar standard. I've used
them since 1994.
VW P/N 043 251 051C Muffler, 1975 - 1979, California only, includes Super

I gave this information to Hugh some years ago; I don't know if these are
the parts he is re-selling or not.

About 8 - 10 years ago, I used a resonator for a ( 70's? ) VW rabbit. It has
a nice tone, is a small short oval with inlet/outlet at the ends (so needed
to bend a pipe for the input, and set outlet to straight out ... lines up
with the normal exhaust exit.) I welded a strap onto it to help support it
via the engine brace. I don't know if a muffler shop might stock that any
more or not. And it isn't a straight bolt up as you need to do a little
custom work.
