Life is what happens while you make other plans...

John Lennon said that, he sure was right.

Last June I was involved in a head-on collision (his fault!) and the impact tore ligaments and muscle in my right shoulder. Quite painful, but only if I move or don't move. The damage is severe and will require major surgery and a long time to rehab before I can get back to my normal life. I go in on the 15th of Sept for surgery and at some point I will be moved to a long term health care facility to rehab and heal. They expect that I will be out for 6 to 8+ months and full recovery will take about a year or more. My shoulders are more important to me than most, so this is quite stressful.

I really didn't want to have to air my personal troubles to the world, but some are impatient and don't know why the site is slow to change so I am forced to lay it all out here. Well, I have to put my entire life on hold for 6-8 months. I had to put down my best friend of 15 years, Sahsa (Siberian Husky), My house will be empty with many watchful eyes around. My shop is shut down, I will be out of work, and left with a great deal of the hospital tab to be paid. You see the idiot who hit me did not have insurance.

I am just asking for everyone who sent me additions for the site to be understanding (I still have them all). Once I get well enough, I will have plenty of time to complete some of the projects I have been working on but didn't have the time to complete. This will all be with my left hand too. I am severely right-handed so this will be challenging.

I am not a big fan of sympathy (a Doctor friend once told me if I wanted sympathy, I could find it between sh*t and syphilis and he was right!), but I would appreciate some measure empathy. Most of you are super folks and my life will always be richer for your kindness and friendships.
