Re: IAOC current situation

Dave,
With all due respect You and the former Board Members should have requested a Emergency Board meeting back when everything was a mess last January/February. Now that everything is up and running, we need a Emergency meeting??? A little late don't you think???

Please reread David Chapman's imformative post above for he was there from the beginning and seems to understand the Bylaws since he created them...

I took this position to help things out to get things back on track along with Ron. We have spent so much time helping to make things good.
I feel bad about the John Bevin's firing and we should have done some things different as John knows and I am personally sorry about that. But we did make a decision as a group and I will stand with the current Board because we felt it was in the best interest of the club. This does not mean that John Bevins is a bad person and does not deserve credit for all the countless hours he spent making the website what it is today. He deserves alot of credit. I care about him and want him to get well asap and I really mean that.

Again, I go to swim meets and always get positive feedback from members on how this current Board is doing... They all can't be wrong!

Re: IAOC current situation

Cigar Guy I think You misunderstood My point. My goal in mind was to put this **** to rest. But if current Board enjoys this endless flinging have at it. At some point the realization that none of this matters will take hold. At some point some one will have to ask, what is the point? I do not want to choose sides. So if this Club is going to make me choose , I will choose none of the above. Become the lone wolf I was. When swim ins happen. And they will, with or with out a Club. I will be able to smile at all I know and not give a fu about politics. So this is My last post here. Y'all enjoy Yourselves. Dave the Wave

Re: IAOC current situation

Dave,
I do understand your point as you and I have spoke several times on this matter. We both want it to stop that is why I was surprised after I spoke to you this morning casually with no mention of your posting, that you would post any more statements. I thought we were all done posting things last week.
I want all this stuff to end as much as you do.

If somebody out there wants to deposit checks every few days and email all the info on members to our membership director on a regular basis, work on events, mail out checks for reinburstment , look over emails and reply from members and non members, work on the annual gift, get donations to swim-ins established/mailed out, sell tee shirts for the club, help with articles for the newsletter and many, many, day to day functions not listed.
I got a job for you! The pay is great also!!!

I DO IT BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT OUR MEMBERS AND THE CLUB.

I just want to get back to the day to day functions of what we have been doing as a Board, and if anyone has any questions or suggestions, Please contact our President Ron Green and I can assure you he will discuss all items that come past him with all of us and put good things into motion.

John Capone
IAOC Treasurer

Re: IAOC current situation

Here is the deal guys .... you can make this stop.

Individual message authors have the ability to delete or edit their own messages. I too hope that folks declare a truce and constrain the discussion to past and future club actions or practices without airing all the dirty accusations. It actually started out that way for the most part but then degenerated.

I am put in a diffiuclt Catch-22 as moderator of this forum (which is, and always has been, run seperately from the club). On the one hand, there is some legitimate discussion about procedures, bylaws, how they are changed, applied, etc. For those of you who go way back, you will recall that the genesis of taking the club over from Jeff Sweet was a discussion thread that started on these very forums. On the other hand, there is a lot of mud slinging and accusations that really add nothing to the discussion.

I did remove the original thread. While many praised me for doing so, I had many others get all ticked off about my doing so. This includes a mix of both past and present board members. Thus, for now anyway, I have taken the stance that we are all big boys and girls who can play nicely together and can disagree without resorting to personal atttacks. For now, I will leave it to the better judgement of some of the message authors to decide if a public forum is the best place to have a pissing contest.
