Re: Club thoughts
Dave,
I still love the trailer idea. We can bring it to events around the country. A trailer like Gord Souter's would be perfect. It would take time to set up but once it is done it would be easy to update. We could set up a poster book style rack that would be giant pages to flip for all articles and photo's... We could have thousands of them in one small area. We can have maybe a transmission split in half as a display (You of course would have to do it!) Maybe have a wiring harness on one wall with all accessories attached. It would be a fun science project for all that would want to get involved. Let's say I have it here in Chicago, I go to Celina and maybe Ron Trudeou can bring it to The Boston swim then maybe someone in Boston who is going to Lake of the Ozarks can bring it there. Then back to maybe Dave's place or someone with a heated storage area for the winter months that would like to donate the space for free to the club, Then maybe the following year To California with the Gordons to Poda's swim, then off to Texas or Michigan. I really think it could work. The club would have to purchase the trailer and display racks, posterboards, etc. We would form a commitee to run our (Museum on Wheels) We would have to insure the trailer under the club so it is covered for anyone that tows it. I would be happy to head up something like this with Dave since we are only a hour apart and many Amphi owners are in our area that can give a helping hand.
Dave, I am glad you brought this up as I have thought about this for a long time. Just think 10 years from now looking back at a collage of photo's and articles and memories all stored in one place for all to see. It would be nice to have something like this for all to see..
